I think young people are a lot more comfortable with ambiguity, they don’t need to know the answer. I think this is a really typical thing for Generation Z, they don’t need to put themselves or others in a box.

It’s the rough Celtic sea, hundred foot high cliffs and the Irish sense of communications and humour that has helped form actor Fionn O’Shea. For our Autumn Winter 13 Issue, ‘Tales Of A New Generation’, photographer Doreen Kilfeather and stylist Paula Hughes captured the actors' young persona at his happy place; a beach outside of Dublin. In his accompanying interview he talks Generation Z, challenges with masculinity and LQBTQ+ rights in post-religious-dominated Ireland. Fionn doesn't feel the need to swim with the stream. Conscious about what stories he wants to tell he can be seen in Netflix coming-of-age drama ‘Handsome Devil’, a film dealing with homophobia and the LGBTQ+ society. Next, he also stars in ‘The Aftermath’ where he plays next to Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgård, which releases in 2018.
