Looking up, all the way untill-you meet his glistening eyes. He's a taller lankier version of you, every step he takes you mimic, every hand gesture and all those expression that form on his face you know every one, your face flawlessy repeating the gestures in a youthful, mischevious way. Every time he leaves, your heart saddens, because you too want the whole world at the bottom of your feet, and to follow him as he adventures in the big wide world.
Deep inside the heart of Issue 8 "The Trouble With Boys", we find ourselves looking up to the stars. To the person we someday wish to be. He's the big brother, the uncle, the dad, the boy who towers above you, but every now and again he picks you up, puts him above your head and races around to the anxious squeals of passer bys. He walks past people effortlessly, becoming their hero as well as yours, as they look upwards to see the boy that taught you everything that matters. The boy that scribbled doodles on your arms to match his tattoos, the boy that let you hang of his feet because you cant quite reach that tree he can climb. That boy who realized you need a hero, and decided to be that hero.
Alina Negoita tells us this story, image by heartfelt image. In a perfect mix of documentary meets fashion, she works with stylist Lisa Jarvis to shows us how Boys by Girls combine a real aspect of our life with the busy trends and fashions of today. We slow the style down, show the people behind the clothes. The boy behind the pretty face, that little hero. Below are just a few image previews of this stunning 10-page editorial.
