That warm feeling of opening your eyes on a sombre English morning and rolling over to see the soft brow of another person. You lay there and breathe in the sense of security, waiting for them to slowly open their eyes. That brief time where nothing is said, nothing needs to be said, you just embrace the moment. You do not have to leave the house or even get dressed today; you can just spend the day in the comfort of another.
Simon K at Established Models is a messy haired boy with a whimsical curiosity for the everyday life. When he is not observing North London on his bike, he is sat in a cosy turtleneck, sipping on raspberry tea and watching movies till sunrise. Domante Kaminskaite captures him at home in this beautifully pure portrait series, all attention on her boy. The splash of mustard yellow compliments the monochromatic images with an autumnal mood. His contemplative glances paired ambient environment shots create a raw and honest feeling of him.
“It’s all about him. When you spent 1/4 of your life with your biggest hero, that makes you believe that the cat-eye sunglasses are the new flowers on your date night and half cold chai-latte is the new champagne. It's just when ‘we are like one’ sounds better than ‘I love you’.”
Perhaps the most beautiful and intimate thing about this series is the love shared between photographer and model.
